These are good-looking and comfortable shoes in the Ecco tradition. However, they have a very aggressive sole pattern composed of relatively soft material. After a couple of days of wearing them, there is already evidence that some of the lugs are starting to break off (particularly those chunky ones at the front of the heel). I will probably keep them but it is rather dissapointing based on Ecco's reputation for quality. I think the Country Ties are a much better shoe.

This is my 3rd pair of Eccos. I work in the package delivery business and am on my feet all day long. The difference between good quality shoes like Eccos and cheaper shoes is like day and night. I have gotten 2 years wear out of the other Eccos I've had, they are very well made. These had no break-in time, they were comfortable from day 1.

Bought this for my husband who is a beef farmer in NZ.Being gortex he is able to wear it in any conditions -doesn't get wet. The last pair lasted eight years of very hard wearing.The sole provides excellent support and spring for his "bad back" condition.Fitted like a glove.
Wears this shoe: anytime - casual, exercise and even more formal occasions as it looks good.
