The boots looked plastic-like to me. Also, I may have a large calf muscle, but I barely got the boot to zip over my calf. This boot may be great for those who have small calves and want the boot to be very snug. I didn't find the boot to be very comfortable and didn't think I'd handle standing in it all day. As you walk, the shoe doesn't seem to give or bend.
