Quality long-lasting shoe
By Bh, from IA | June 29, 2014

These shoes are made to last! Stiff at first, but once you wear them a few times, they soften and are super comfortable. Thick sole for long wear & support. When I scuff the leather, I touch it up with some shoe polish and they look like new again! Also, easy to clean if I walk through a little mud. Just wipe with a damp cloth and they're clean again.

Better than expected
By c mcnulty, from minneapolis, mn | June 20, 2014

I have owned several pairs of shoes like this from other makers so I knew that I liked the style but the feel and weight of these are far better than any of the others I have owned. They are very light weight but feel like they are quality and won't fall apart or anything. I will definitely get another pair of these if I still like the style after these wear out.

Eastland Newbury

I purchased a great looking pair of shoes from a national chain that sells designer brands at a discount. they were trash within 45 days, but wouldn't refund because they had been worn. Needless to say, I needed a casual work shoe quickly, preferably with a slight heel. While these shoes are not beautiful, they are comfortable. The heel area seems wide, but I've been having a hard time with that on most shoes recently so that isn't a surprise. They seem to have quite a few scuff marks on them after only a few weeks, so we'll see how well they hold up. I'm hoping they will last a year or more.

Retro Lite Hiking Boot
By Karen, from New Jersey | April 03, 2014

I purchased this shoe for spring and fall weather when it is too wet for sneakers and too warm for winter boots. There is flexibility in the foot due to soft ankle collar and tongue and adjustable lacing. I usually wear a size 8 or 8.5 and purchased and 8W to accommodate my orthotics. It fits well. The outer sole is soft, almost flat with minimal texture compared to some heavier duty hikers or walking shoes/sneakers. The insole is soft. They do not have much, arch support, but can take orthotics. I don't think I will keep them because I have a orthopedic issues with my feet that make me very particular in finding comfort. I would have liked to see more arch support and a slightly higher heel. Overall I think it is a quality flexible leather shoe, but just does not work for me.

Returned fit was one size smaller
By Jayne, from Cookeville, TN | April 03, 2014

I've had several pair of these over the years, but the ones I ordered here were a full size (at least) smaller than what a typical 6.5 wide would be. (Wish they had fit).

Shoebuy Insider on Eastland Shoes

For the folks at Eastland, inspiration is a gaze out the window. Browsing the brand's catalogue, it comes without surprise that Eastland is based in Freeport, Maine. Before putting on a pair of Eastlands, one can imagine them resting on the welcome mat of a lakeside cabin or dockside as their owner takes a leisurely dip.

Eastland's products range from functional outdoor footwear, such as the Ranger Duck and First Ascent, to dress casual styles, such as the Moc Steady and Falmouth; and Eastland's affinity for nature shines through in each pair they make. Of course, homebodies needn't feel left out. Eastland also makes slippers, open toe slides, and sandals for less rugged uses, such as strolling around your home and running errands via cities' more forgiving trails.

While Eastland enjoys its leisurely setting in Maine, integrating its five brand pillars into every product remains paramount; providing consumers with comfortable, versatile footwear that will endure wear and fashion patterns, all at a fair price.
