I owned these shoes for over 10 years. I wore them on several winter trips to Europe in rain and snow. I thought they were indestructible, but they fell apart last weekend after over a decade of service. I already bought another pair.

I love this shoe. I wore out a pair, though it took several years of wear and tear wearing them through snow, sleet, rain in Minnesota winters, etc. They are surely durable and oh so comfortable. They don't take much if any upkeep. When they get dusty or dirty I just wipe them off with a damp cloth and go. The heel is just right, not to high, not too low. I like a wider show and these are fine in the medium width for me. I do tend to buy them a half size larger just because they are slip-ons and I like to have the ease with slipping them on. I wear and 8-8.5 and I just got the 8.5 and they are a perfect fit. My heel does not slip and they bend in the right place. Plenty of room for my toes, not crowded. Can't get a better shoe. Great experience also with Shoebuy!

I owned a pair previously for many years until they sole separated from the shoe as another user stated. This pair will take some time to break in. The sole seems to have some slick substance on them but I think(I'm hoping) that will go away in time with wearing them.

Loved my 12yr old and well-worn Newports. But when the soles began to separate, I had to replace. Was glad to find them here, but rather disappointed when I got them. New, harder bottoms feel slippery on floors. Top leather is stiffer and overall seems tighter. They fit well and I'm wearing them around the house, hoping they will stretch and soften. Love the support. Good shoe, but be aware of the newer differences. Still have the clean, simple look, just not as soft and pliable, but will likely last at least as long as my first Newports (LOVED them).
