I am looking for a backpack that is comfortable, easy for me to access but theft proof. I have not taken it on a trip yet, but it is comfortable and fairly easy to access. There were comments about the water bottle holder but I mine fits easily.

Ideal pack for carrying daily necessities. Small enough that it doesn't feel like overkill on days you only carry a few things, but still large enough to hold a few books and articles of clothing when needed. The zipper pocket on the outer right side is padded and partly felted to safely hold a cell phone, which is very handy. The water bottle holder on the other side, though, is smaller than it looks in the picture. Don't expect to get a full-sized bottle in there. The internal organization is great. The more accessible of the two larger compartments--the one against your back--contains a key fob and an organizer wall with multiple padded pouches for holding electronics, small tools, etc. and is otherwise well shaped for carrying books or magazines. My only major complaint is that the other, larger main compartment is slightly difficult to open due to a 3/4" canvas hood that covers the zipper (presumably intended to protect against rain). You'll want to keep items you need quick easy access to in another pocket instead. That said, the compartment in question is a lot roomier than you'd guess from the outside, capable of easily holding, say, a rolled up sweater, scarf and hat. Overall, I definitely recommend it.
