I had a pair of western-style slouch boots that were in desperate need of repair. I had to make a decision of whether I wanted to spend the cash to repair them or replace them all together, so I went looking to see if it was worthwhile to just replace them with a brand new boot.I don't own a car, so my shoes need to hold up to lots of walking around. I purchased these with that in mind, since they're boots designed for moving around and not just looking good.Normally I wear a 7.5, but I'd heard that these ran a little big. There was no 7.5 in stock, so I took my chances with the 7. I'm glad I did. The size is absolutely perfect. I have normal-narrow feet, so the width was excellent for me. I also have small calves, so the smaller circumference of the opening was really ideal for me. As far as walking, the shoes are very comfortable, but the shafts are so stiff that they rub against my shins in a slightly painful way. I'm hoping that over time this will stop happening, like it did with the pair I replaced. I assume this is because the leather is so stiff and firm and just needs to soften up.I'm not doing anything more hardcore than walking in these, so I'm not sure what all they can handle. They do hold up well to rain, which is nice here in the tropics. They are pretty stiff in the sole, so don't try to run too hard in these.

This boot is extremely comfortable! I'm on my feet all day and they're perfect...no pinching or rubbing anywhere. I have a wide foot and even though these appear narrow, they don't fit narrow. Look great with jeans & casual dresses. One hint: buy 1/2 size smaller. I take a 9 and sent those back for an 81/2 (eu 40.5). The way the sizing is marketed is confusing.

These boots are so totally cool looking I hated to send them back. But they were a little too long, too narrow at the toes and too big in the heel. I could tell they were not going to mold to my feet, the way boots often do. And I could tell that a different size would not have worked either. Sigh.

This is my 2nd pair because I loved my brown ones, so I HAD to have black! Look superb with cuffed straight leg jeans, or babydoll dress and tights. They are my go to boots for any casual event!
