Dryworks® moisture management membrane system provides waterproof protection and breathable comfort in the wettest conditions. Virbram® Supertrek compound rubber outsole is formulated fro enhanced grip on rocky surfaces. Supertrek is soft enough for smearing moves, yet firm enough for edging while maintaining needed durability on the trail.
Direct contact ABZORB® in the heel and forefoot provides superior shock absorption and ideal underfoot cushioning for maximum multi-mile comfort. Gusseted tongue keeps sticks and stones where they belong on the trail, not in your shoe.
Non-stretch stability wings provide a secure heel and forefoot cradle for lightweight lateral support and foothold. SL-1 Sport last shape provides a more athletic fit. 360 fit design considers not only length and width but also volume.

As a 7AA, finding any shoes to fit me is extremely difficult. These sneaker-hiking-boots hybred are fabulous. Comfort, support, and style all in one package. Just what I needed for hiking out to see the new lava flow into the Pacific from Kileaua Volcano. Great grip on old smooth or rough lava. These are not too heavy so they don't pull me off-balance. Believe me, you do not want to fall on lava rock. It can really rip your skin off.
Wears this shoe: Hiking, yard work, even shopping.

Shoebuy.com has the best return policy ever. I bought one pair, and when it arrived, it was simply too small. Returned for a larger size, perfect. Make sure to order a half size larger than normal, especially if you wear thick socks for hiking.

I am so pleased with these shoes. I'm a 55-year-old woman with occasional plantar fascitis and feet that hurt if I don't wear great shoes. These are so comfortable I want to leave them on in the house. I visited a city a few weeks after I bought them, and walked for miles and miles with great comfort. I also have hiked on the hills, and they are great. And so far they are waterproof.

I bought this boot after trying a bunch of different boots. I have a long narrow foot, needed boots for a major four day trek that my feet didn't slip around in. These boots fit very well when I first tried them and after a couple of weeks of breaking them in, still do. They are comfortable, have good grip and best of all, are nice and light for those tough uphill portions of the hike.
