Classic style, old-fashioned fit March 14, 2013

These are quality shoes, made from robust leather and durable rubber. I'm impressed with the workmanship.Because my feet are flat and narrow, I generally have trouble finding traditional oxfords that fit. Not surprisingly, I found this true with the Dunham Battery Park Waterproof Oxford. I ordered a B width, but still found them roomy.After inserting a used footbed from an old pair of New Balance cross trainers beneath the existing footbed, and re-lacing them corset-style to maximize their tightness, things improved. Since my foot sits low, the top rear of the shoe tends to dig into the space between my heel and ankle.But I haven't given up yet. I'm still working with them. I expect as the leather softens, these will become old trusted friends.
Wears this shoe: So far, only in leisure time.

The reviews said that this shoe was larger than its true size. So, I bought the one that's the true shoe size of my husband. Yet, he says the shoes are very tight on his feet. I don't know what to do. Hope that they stretch with wear or send them back now for a larger size.

I did not know, but these shoes came in a New Balance box, and Dunham is a New Balance brand. I'm very impressed with the quality of these shoes.
