Dr. William Mathias Scholl loved feet, or at the very least, loved helping people alleviate foot pain. His career was committed to the science behind footwear and the pursuit of keeping customers comfortable; in his lifetime, he amassed well over 1,000 patented products for foot care. In addition to his business exploits, he helped found the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine outside of Chicago.
