Doc Martin's always run on the wide side, these are true to size for Doc Martin's, perhaps a little wide compared to others. Like all Doc Martin's, a good quality shoe, this is more basic, with a lighter weight leather than their other shoes. Consistently, a high quality manufacturer, good comfort, support, and sole that take the shock instead of your foot. I have owned many pair of Doc Martin's, always last for years.

Like most Doc's, the first couple times worn were a little painful. Main problem was the heel collar. Got some blisters. Very comfy after that.

This is my first pair of Dr. Martens. I am very picky about my shoes - I need a lot of support and comfort. I got them to replace a pair of Eccos I had run into the ground. I boldly took them brand new on a trip to Seattle. I had a lot of walking planned, so I took a leap of faith. The first half a day I wore them, they were a little stiff, then, just like that, they turned into the most comfortable shoes I think I have ever owned! 3 solid days and many miles later, still doing great! No foot, knee or ankle pain like I get after long hours in my Eccos or Havana Joes.
