My first pair of Dr. Marten's wwere the 6-hole police boot in black I bought in high school. They lasted over 20 years, until my wife finally made me throw them out. The tread had been worn completely smooth. I remember as a teen using a toothbrush to clean the yellow stitching that went all the way around above the sole. I loved those boots. I had been in the market for a new pair for some time, but had never seen anything that really caught my eye... until I came across the Winstons on Shoebuy. They looked great online, but more importantly they looked even better on my feet. I wanted something similar to the traditional style, yet somehow updated. These fit the bill completely. Shiny black leather as I remembered, but with full zippers running up the middle between the laces. They look amazing and garner compliments all the time. They fit like a glove and are super comfortable, even when all-day shopping. True, they are not cheap, but I can say, they are definitely worth it. If these last half as long as my first pair, then they are a steal at twice the price.
