This saddle oxford has the original Dr. Martens air-cushioned sole, providing underfoot comfort and durability since 1960. It is oil- and fat-resistant, tough and offers good abrasion and slip resistance! This dress shoe is a Goodyear-welted product. The upper and sole are sewn together, not merely glued, like many other footwear constructions. This, with the Dr. Martens Z welt-stitch and heat sealing process, makes this shoe durable and fashionable!

These are totally reminiscent of the old style saddle shoes of the 50's and 60's and of top quality. They do require significantly more of break in than most Dr.Martens. I have professional grade shoe stretcher which I'll certainly be using to widen the fit and along with a spray to soften up the leather a little since it's stiffer than most Dr.Martens. Like the original models of saddle shoes, these also have a slightly tighter fit in respect to width. Hence the shoe stretcher to change that characteristic. These aren't as full as the traditional round toe shoe. In regard to workmanship, impeccable. They show quality throughout.

A nice shoe! Very tough to break in, a little narrow.. but I'm satisfied overall! If you order these, just make sure you have plenty of bandages for inevitable blisters from breaking them in.

These are men's shoes. They run large for women. I bought a size US7, they are a good half size too large. I will keep them however.
