I love the tiny, barely noticeable blend of green and brownish red flower print on these. It makes them a little fancier than regular black 1460s, but still not too showy. The sole on these is a clearish black rather than the usual clearish dark brown, and the welt stitching is black rather than the normal yellow. This makes for a very clean looking, pretty boot. I was also happy to find that the leather on this particular pair of 1460s is quite pliable and broke in quickly with no pain at all. I found these boots very true to size (I am a US7, purchased my usual DM size UK5).

After buying, and loving, my Triumph 1914W boots, I found myself eyeing the Clemency ones. I'm a size 7.5 and the size 7 fits wonderfully with or without socks, so I would definitely suggest taking the lower number if you're in between. The heel also added nice support and based on ten mins of walking to class, I don't anticipate a long break-in period.

This is my second pair of Doc Martens. I love these shoes. I have the purple crushed velvet and have received tons of compliments. They are a bit stiff and bulky at first but the more I wore them, they were more comfortable. They are crushed velvet, so they don't give as much as leather. I believe as I wear them more, they will break in better. I typically wear 9.5-10. I ordered 10 and they fit great--a little bit of room, but not too big.

This is an incredibly beautiful shoe, purple and crushed velvet and still OK to wear to work. This would be a five star review except for the need to break in the heel portion of the shoe. Be sure to allow time to break in the heel, it is very stiff and gave me blisters where it rubbed the first time I wore them. I'm wearing moleskin under my socks so avoid a repeat while they break in. That said, the shoe is so gorgeous that I am totally willing to make the effort.
