I bought these vegan Dr. Martens based almost exclusively on their reputation as a high quality, long lasting shoe. Like any Dr Martens, the break-in period on these is kinda brutal. Investing in moleskin is defintely recommended. I work at a large company where conservative business casual is the norm, and these shoes are absolutely perfect. If anything, they're almost TOO conservatively styled. I found this style to run slightly smaller and more narrow than I'd expected, although I've read the exact opposite online. Go figure. Nonetheless, these are great quality shoes.And the fact that they're cruelty-free totally rocks.

These Dr. Martens are a comfortable casual chukka. The fit is a bit snug initially until the leather is broken in a bit. Very comfortable and slip-resistant. The color works well with many different ensembles. I could probably pull these off with some cargo shorts even. I've worn this pair all day even in the first couple days without any discomfort. The craftmanship isn't quite what it used to be when all Dr. Martens were made in England but I haven't noticed any defects or problems. And I appreciate the lower price.

I have a couple pairs of the 1460 in smooth leather, so I purchased my usual size (UK 6). This leather however, is a lot softer and stretched out, so it felt at least a size larger than normal.
