I have slightly larger than normal calves and these fit with medium to even bulky socks. The bottom of the boot is plenty roomy for bulky socks- but not too loose with just tights.They are super comfy and so pretty. I wear them with skirts- but they can just barely fit over my tightest jeans so I can wear them that way too. They are my favorite boot and I may buy them in the other colors.

The grey josie slouch boot is just great; wonderful grey; soft suede uppers, nice heel, beautiful leather lowers, and very comfortable on top of everything else. I have long, lean legs, and they fit me great, whether over pants, or with a skirt. I have worn them a number of times, and always receive compliments!

Bought these because I loved how my Docs fit -- haven't had any for about 20-years! Thought I'd outgrown Doc style til I saw these boots! They're PERFECT! Other reviews found them to be big for the marked size -- I ordered both an 8 and a 9 (I wear a 9) and kept the 9s. They're definitely wider than most "B" widths -- just what I need. Just wish cool temps would get here so I can where them! Did do a few-hour test wear and they were great!

The fall semester was coming up and I wanted a new pair of leather boots. I had a coupon but I wanted to make sure I used it on something less than $100. This pair was not only made of natural materials, but it was a good price and a good brand that I'm familiar with.Overall the boot is very nice. They're sturdy, with a good, chunky heel that doesn't threaten to make me fall over. The height is enough to make my feet a little sore after a couple of hours, but not terribly so, and there's enough of a platform on the sole to absorb shock when I'm walking. Obviously with this height you're not going to get away without a bit of pain, but it's manageable. I had read some reviews of Dr. Martens that suggested sizing down. I usually wear a 7.5, so ordinarily I would size up if there were no half sizes. In this case I sized down to the US7 and it fits perfectly. Not tight at all. I was also concerned with the circumference, since I have relatively small calves. If you have larger calves, be warned: These will not fit you. It is possible they will stretch, but they are a comfortable loose/slightly slouchy fit on my 13.5" calves. I'm not sure how much bigger the shaft is with each size, but the 7 was perfect for me.My only complaint is the lower shoe really needs to be broken in. The part where it attaches to the suede is very stiff and took a lot of skin off of my ankles the first day (wearing tights). Since then I wear very puffy socks. Otherwise, great.

While I haven't worn it yet since it's still summer, I love this boot and it feels comfortable when I try it on. A little bit casual but a little bit dressy because of the shiny details.
