I am a nurse, on my feet 12-16 hour shifts, suffer from plantar faciaitiis EXCEPT when wearing Docs. The Kansas City metro area does not have a great selection of Docs, so I finally figured out what size Doc I wear by trying on some locally, and am pretty comfortable now ordering online. I wear a 10 US, but the 8 UK are definitely a size too big. So, I order 7UK and LOVE them. Docs vary in style as to the width, but I think are generally pretty generous in width, and not for the narrow footed. I have been wearing mostly Docs for over 10 years, and,once you get used to them being heavy, they are the best shoe in the universe....plus, even at 41 yrs old, I have all the other nurses asking where I got my cool shoes.
