The peanut-colored version of these shoes that I bought looked okay, wearable. They're comfortable, certainly more so than most non-sneakers, but I had to return them. The reason is that they are wide, like duck feet. There's just lots of extra material around the toe area of the foot, which was annoying because the toe was a little snug for me. Since my legs are thin, this made me look like I was wearing pancakes or flippers on my feet.

I would highly recommend Dr Martens--No break-in and felt like bedroom slippers first time on, great padding with no laces. I liked them so well that I bought two pairs of black and brown.

I have a foot that is difficult to fit, but the Dr. Martens have been working well over past few years (as do Clarks, and New Balance - read wide foot). These new shoes are probably one of the most comfortable I have found in last few years. The sole has the expected Dr. Marten cushion, while the built in insole provides very good support and comfort. The only down side to Dr. Martens is that you need to like them when you buy them, because you will tire of them well before you can wear them out (I have a 3-year old pair of low-top boots that has over 800 wear-days on today, and still look great). Try a pair and enjoy!!!!
