The 14-eyelet Doc Marten classic boot is the perfect size. 10-eyelets is much too small, and 20-eyelets is much too big. The boot itself is decently built with standard leather. I'd not recommend trying to wear the boot straight out of the package, but rubbing it down in vaseline or mink oil (preferably mink oil) and letting it sit for a few days, and then doing it two or three more times before trying to wear them again. The leather needs to be softened, and wearing brand new Docs isn't the best idea. All in all, it's a great shoe. I can't wait to kick some ass.
Wears this shoe: Every day. When I'm driving, I usually remove one so I can feel the pedals.

For being such a sharp pair of shoes I'm very surprised that Doc Martens didn't add a better insole. They look great and after adding a better insole they also feel great.

I purchased the boots for work. They feel about a half size larger than marked. The back of the boot rubs against the back of my ankle and causes some blistering. The leather tends to easily scratch and scuff.

These were a birthday gift for my 14 year old boy. He loves them! We did order them a 1/2 size bigger to allow for growth. His only complaint is the time it takes to put them on. That is just par for the course with boots though. I wish they were still made in England but the quality is still satisfactory.
