DPC headwear is well made, and this hat falls into this category. The oil cloth material makes the hat weather resistant and the light fleece lining - a unique feature - makes the hat a more comfortable cool weather hat. It fits well, too!

My husband loves DPC hats and this one was perfect for his big head. Sounds like an insult but really he has a big cranium and on top of that very little hair, so baseball caps just don't do the trick. This hat has a breezeway across the top with the open weave crown so it keeps his head cool and dry, and the wide brim protects his ears and face from too much sun. It's made very well and as long as you don't wash it in the washing machine like I did the one he had before this one, it will last years.

Not what I had hoped for

I bought this hat based on the photo provided on the site. I was excited, opening it...but it looks nothing like the photo. Also, the large size is REALLY large. I stuffed the inside hat band. The hat looks okay on, and the construction is good, with a wide, protective brim. But I should have shopped further, I think. I may occasionally wear it. I've had it for three or four weeks now, and I haven't worn it yet.
