My feet are always cold ... sometimes even in the summer, with air conditioning. If you don't suffer from popsicle toes, perhaps these booties are not for you. For me, they do fit the bill - nice and warm! I run between 10.5-11, and the XL is plenty roomy for me. I only wish I had a pair of these with outdoor soles!
