Bought these to help my boyfriend with his fairly heavy yard work and wood pile--my hiking boots were getting destroyed. Love these! They are comfortable right out of the box, although, there is a little breaking in to do around the ankles. They are tough leather, though, so that is to be expected at least to some degree.

For years I wore workboots made by Dunham. Then they stopped making the style I liked. I have probably spent well over seven hundred bucks in the past 16 months looking for just the right boots to use as a replacement. (I'm picky!) I liked the look of the the Double H 5" Lacer, but hadn't gotten it because it was brown, and I need (as well as prefer) black boots. I found a way to dye leather shoes, so I took a chance and bought a pair of the Lacers. They are SOOOOOO comforatble. And they also look nice. Of course now that I have found "my perfect replacement" I think they'll probably stop making them!! After I found that I liked them, I bought two more pairs. I imagine I will likely get a few additional pairs as well. The footbed offers good support, but not hard, like some workboots. The leather was not so stiff that it hurt to break them in. All in all, there is nothing negative I can say about them, except that I wish they came in black!
Wears this shoe: Mostly at work, but I also have a pair I wear at home.

When I saw the Women's Double H 5" Lacer online, I thought it was a good looking shoe; when I received the shoes I was blown away by the look as well as the comfort. I am a "lady" in development and construction and I needed a construction type booth, but with style and it just what I needed. The guys on the site, don't forget I am a "lady".

I have an old ankle injury, which I keep reinjuring once in awhile. I have to use custom made insoles, but with this type of boot, I haven't needed to put them in. They have plenty of support and comfort. Love them, but I have to see how long they last in my line of work. I gallop racehorses for a living and my regular Timberland brand boots only lasted 3 months.
