They're great! My ankles never hurt when I wear them either. :} Definitely summer boots; My feet are never warm when outside long term in them when winter comes around. No break in. :} Also, people sometimes think they're very nice shoes instead of boots (if I don't tuck my pants in) so I can wear them everywhere.

These boots are light. They almost feel lighter than my Nike running shoes. They are comfortable. I wore this for 7 straight days at Burning Man. I wore it during the day, in 100 degree heat. I wore it at night in 40 degree weather. I probably walked 5 or so miles each day, sometimes more. And through it all, I almost forgot that I had boots on. The zipper rocks. Putting on and taking off the boots was a 10 second affair. No messing with the laces. I didn't really like the velcro thingy at the top of the boots. Supposedly that's required to keep the zippers zipped up. I haven't experimented with tucking them away, so I don't know how critical those velcro straps are, but I do know they just got in my way of taking off my boots. Dust proof and (mostly) water proof - nothing, NOTHING, got into the boots. Playa dust, if you know of it, is super fine, and gets through even the smallest cracks. But at the end of a day of walking several miles, my feet and socks were pretty much dust free. I only got some water in my boots when I got doused with water while they were still on. Overall, a great buy for the price!
