The Vermont Darn Tough 1401 is by far the best sock I have ever This past weekend I competed in a 50k trail race with over a dozen deep water crossings wearing the quite good looking Lava 1401s and new shoes. My shoes, socks, and feet were wet the entire race. Normally my feet would be blistered badly by these conditions. I attribute not a single blister, hot spot, nor rub to the 1401s. Also, the socks are thick and well-cushioned, but do not make your feet hot. There are many great colors for which I plan to replace my other running socks. The price is well worth it.

I love these socks!! They're my new obsession for outdoor gear. They work for any activity/sport. I have both the shorter/ankle sock and the higher "hiking" sock. I found these socks when I started a marathon training program last Jan. They kept my feet warm, dry and blister free. I've used the "hiking" sock for snowboarding, skiing, hiking and just everyday use in the winter. They've been washed so much, but they never get scratchy. Soft and cozy everytime. I guess they guarantee them for life because they can; they never wear out! These are so worth the purchase!
