I have owned 4 pairs of Danner boots, and these are the best yet. They are American made, and the craftsmanship that went into these boots is evident in every detail. They are extremely comfortable right out of the box, requiring little to no break in time. These boots should last two to three years with daily use, just like the other Danners I have purchased in the past. I highly recommend Danner's AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS to anyone. They produce some of their line in China and they are not of the same quality. I had a pair of Chinese made Danner quarry boots and they fell apart after a year, but their military spec boots made in Portland are the best money can buy. Danner's were my first choice in boots when I was in the Navy and I carried that preference over to civilian life. I currently wear them 250 - 300 days a year working in a power plant, and they provide the safety, stability and durability that a high stress industrial environment demands. The price a consumer pays for a pair of these boots is high compared to the alternatives out there, but they are worth every penny for the comfort alone. Besides, their durability will make them less costly than other boots in the long run, because they outlast other boots 2-3 fold. Once again I HIGHLY recommend Danners craftsmanship and these boots are one of danners best. If you are looking for black try the Danner Acadia you will be pleased. $300 sounds like a of money, but is it really when you wear them everyday?
