This is the second pair of Danner's I have owned and I love them. I still wear the first pair, but wanted to try the side zip version, because being a Sheriff Deputy in a rural area you are subject to call out for backup with short notice and having the side zip makes it much faster getting your boots on, enabeling you to respond much faster. Both versions are very comfortable and break in time is pretty much the first day wearing.

Oh my gosh, I love these boots. Most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned. Wish I could wear them everday, that's how comfortable they are.

The only problem I foresee with this particular boot is when it gets hot out, my feet will start cooking! There are few areas for your foot to breathe.

I got this boots after a year in corrections and my feet haven't hurt yet. The first day I got them I wore them around the house a little and the next was off to work. They didn't even feel like a new boot. They were broke-in in a day or two.
