This boot's sole gave a lot of protection from sharp rocks. More protection at toe with protruding full front sole. I wore this boot during a week of rough use in the woods at a Scout camp where I have been disappointed with protection of other brand boots. My feet stayed comfortable and the bottom of my feet did not become sore from rocks as some previous brands I had.

I've worn a pair of Danner Radical 45 GTX boots almost daily, since July of 2004. Although they are worn for all-around general purpose use, they have also been subjected to some fairly extreme conditions. They are now almost six years old and showing almost no signs of wear. I decided to purchase two additional pairs of these incredible boots, so that I will be assured of a lifetime supply. For comfort, performance and durability, these Danner Radical 45s are the best boots I've ever owned.

This is my second pair of 452's and I can't say enough positive words to describe these shoes. I've had the first pair now for 3.5 years and other than the bottom of the soles are worn flat from wearing them every day to work and on weekends also. I will still wear them to work and use my new pair for the weekends. The fit is excellent, they are very comfortable to wear all day long. Extremely durable and very nice looking. I will always wear Danner shoes and boots.

I bought these hikers because of the trust I have always had in my Danner work boots. These hikers are very comfortable, but they are also very unreliable when it comes to traction on stone and smooth cement surfaces. This is most noticable when there is even the smallest amount of moisture underfoot. I'll just have to keep using my old Salomon beaters. They aren't waterproof, but at least I can trust that they will keep me upright.

I like this boots so far, you need to break them in so wear them all that you can! There a little stiff at first and might rub you back of your heals.
