To begin with, I had a big pair of clunky hikers from Tom McCann in the 1970's and I always wanted another pair. I was surprised to find that almost no one makes these type of boots anymore, so I bought the Danner Mtn Lt II's before Danner decided not to make them. I love the boots. I am just breaking them in now and looking forward to spring and summer when I can start hiking. Make sure you get someone to help you with the fit, because these aren't like light day hikers and if you go too small you'll regret it later when your toes are rubbing. Also, I think wearing proper hiking socks and liners is a must with these type of boots. Danner, thanks for my clunky hikers. They should last me a life time.

Great boot!Broke in pretty quickly,now I don't want to take them off. They are a little chilly once the temperature goes below -20, but until then they are perfect fit & temp! I'll never go back!

There is not enough words to describe the quality in workmanship and materials used in the making of these Danner boots. This is my second pair of Danners and the first pair of boots still look like the day I ordered them.

Love the quality, I am an architect and actually wear them to the office (to help avoid planter fasciatis). These shoes have great support. I have a pair of Danner "Rain Forest" boots that I use for hunting, after 10 years of serious use during the fall and winter months, these boots look like they will last another 10!
