Excellent boot, and very comfortable. I accidentally purchased the Gore Tex version and my feet were sweating. Realized my error, bought these, and they are a dream. I'll save my other pair for winter. Danner is the best.

I was concerned about buying footwear over the internet with no chance to try them on first. I received exactly what I ordered.The first time I put these boots on, they felt a just little bit snug. I broke them in wearing them for 2 hours a day. After the second day the fit was absolutely perfect, not too snug and not too loose, so I just wore them all day after that.My first outdoor experience with them: Superstition Mountains in Arizona. It is a very rugged terrain and these Danner boots saved me from a sprained ankle more then once. They are ultra comfortable, lightweight (considering what they are) and very rugged - it just doesn't get any better.In short - I am highly impressed. Absolutely and without question these are my "go to" hiking boots.

In my opinion Danner boots run smaller and narrower so it is important to get a half size bigger. The boots are excellent quality (leather, soles, laces, etc.). My main complaint is that the upper portion has thick pads in it which makes my feet bake over here in the hot Iraq weather. They are much hotter than the standard military issued boots.

I noticed several other soldiers wearing these boots and thought I would try them out. I usually have problems with stress fractures when rucking or extensive marching so I thought these would help. I usually wear a 9R in all military issue boots, but these were a half size bigger so I went down to a 8.5R. Break-in time is minimal. These are great boots, worth every dollar spent. I will buy them again when I need new boots. I'm probably going to buy the winter gore-tex as well.

This is the best style of military boots I have had yet. I have gone through about 4 different styles, models, etc. This is actually my second pair. I had the gortex insulated version and liked them so much that I had to get this pair as well. Feel like High top sneakers, right out of the box. Well worth the cost.
