Good boots...but hot! May 31, 2010

The quality of the boots are great (leather, soles, laces, stitching, etc.) However, in my opinion, they are very hot for desert weather. The upper portion has thick padding which traps alot of heat in. My feet get so hot I can't wait to get them off. I also felt like Danners run smaller and narrower than normal. These would make great boots for colder weather...just not in Iraq!

I bought these boots about 2 weeks ago, and had worn them around 4 hours before we went out on a FTX. These boots were so comfortable, even not being broken in, that my feet were barely sore at the end of a 20 hour day rucking up and down hills and through swamps and uneven terrain. Definitely waterproof as well as I found out when we went into marshes and swampy ground; my feet stayed dry. I am extremely impressed.

These boots are fabulous. I almost never spend money on military products; however due to increasing knee problems I felt I needed something more supportive than the issued boots. Well worth every penny I spent. I wear a womens 8 and for me the boots are true to size. I am planning to buy the other style of Danners so that I have at least two pairs to rotate. Go head....buy them now!!
