This is the second pair of Danner shoes I'v ordered. They are made with high workmanship and also have excellent arch support.

Well constructed, but fit not great on wide foot

I had ordered a 10 wide, which is what I normally wear in a Danner boot. When I got them, my big toe was pushing against the front of the boot. The toe box also seemed a little narrow. I exchanged them for a 10.5 wide and while the toe box feels better, it slips a little in the heel, more than I'd like, since I'm headed to Yosemite for a week of hiking.For my foot, the toe box needs to be wide and the heel not as much. I'm compensating with thick hiking socks and lacing the top really tight. So far, so good on 3 mile walks, but we'll see how it goes after many more miles on rougher mountain terrain. They seem to be tough boots, but I'm not 100% on the fit as I have been with other Danners.

Comfortable shoe for here in Iraq, but I have to say I like my Danner 452 GTX's a little better. They are both holding up really well.

First, this shoe seems a bit wider than normal. I normally get a 13 wide, but had to reorder for a 13 which fit well. The only other small gripe is that the shoe is so rigid, and the laces so stiff, that it is hard to tie tightly. Often it feels a bit more loose than I'd like, but perhaps this will improve as it breaks in. I bought some 'shoepads' to fit in the lip, which may solve this problem
