Why I bought Clark's Portland

I have been buying SAS "Time Out" walking shoes for many years, but those now cost $148.00! Far out of my price range. Several years ago I found a pair of Clark's that are far superior to SAS in every way, especially price but also in overall fit, comfort, and durability. I walk 2 miles every day and the old ones are far from worn out. The new ones are handsome enough to wear to church. All of this, and a final price from ShoeBuy of roughly half that of SAS "Time Out".
Wears this shoe: While new: Church, shopping mall, dining out. Later: walking.

Like all Clarks, these are comfy, but they hit my ankle bone on one foot. I have to break this pair in. How unusual, but I like them and they fit fine for comfort while walking to and from train and work

wearing these shoes the past couple of weeks, i'm happiest where the rubber meets the road: very comfortable for strolling and hiking. good support, good ride. they do seem just a bit roomy, though. would recommend buying a half size smaller than usual. the look is respectably unstylish: they're dad shoes, like all clarks.
Wears this shoe: teaching, getaways, playing drums, eating, talking politics, day dreaming.
