BioCentric footbeds and an easy open toe design provide a level of comfort and performance seldom found in sport sandals.
Free your toes, your mind will follow. Original open-toe design invites socks and booties to the party, and they get to hang out on our BioCentric footbed while helping you scramble through your day.
Sculpted heel riser provides rear foot stability and greater heel side comfort. Molded polyurethane footbed is durable and resistant, even after years of hard use. Soft polyester webbing dries faster than nylon and maintains a consistent fit in all conditions. Buckle closure adjusts easily and will not wear out or clog with sand.
Chaco original pull through strap system provides complete adjustability, while eliminating the bulk and stiffness of overlapping hook-and-loop. With Vibram® durability, the Unaweep outsole is a great combination of slip resistance, traction and light weight. Lug pattern and spacing makes this sole virtually self-cleaning. This shoe is vegan/vegetarian friendly.

I wore my last Chaco Z/1 Unaweeps 6-7 months of the year for 6-7 years and- altho showing some wear- they are still serviceable. They are incredibly durable and comfortable. You can wear them with socks if you wish. They are certainly worth the cost. I know of none better in their class.

I love the sandals. They have great arch support and the adjustable straps are really adjustable. You can fine tune them to fit barefoot, with neoprene booties or midweight wool socks. The polyester straps are softer and more comfortable than nylon straps. I originally saw the Chaco sandal when I was in the BWCA. Lots of folks have switched from Teva and Merrill to the the Chaco brand because of the better fit and comfort. Plus they can be machine washed. The sandals are not lightweight, but are very sturdy and will last. I like that they are assembled is the USA. That was an important item for me. I like that they can be resoled and restrapped.

I like this sandal. It is comforable and strong. I would recommend anyone thinking about buying, to do it. The one suggestion that I would make is do not hike long distances in it, I went 7 miles with it and got them wet and got a blister on my toe and wore the skin off where the strap went over the big toes. If I would have keep dry and had on a pair of socks, I do not think this wouls have happened.

I bought my first pair in 1995 and wore them almost every day and just need to replace them because the sole is coming off. Love Chaco's. Have tried other brands but the Chaco fit and feel is the best and lasts.
