Originally ordered my usual size but they turned out to be too small and too narrow. Exchanged them for pair that was a half size larger and "wide" width and they fit fine. I'm retired and figure this may be my last pair, so they'd better be good. Will be using them for construction projects, forest/wood cutting, and other heavy duty activities. Material quality is excellent, as you'd expect shoes in this price range to be. Vibram soles provide really good grip. Uppers are quite supple for such rugged boots. Steel toes obviously aren't going to "stretch" at all, so order your size appropriately. I like the fact that their welt is repairable because that's usually the first place they come apart. My feet sweat heavily and I like the way the liners in these things soak it up and allow it to evaporate when they're removed. Gore Tex is also the only way to go. Ankle protection and support are just right; padded but not too stiff or bulky. Haven't worn them in extreme cold yet so don't know how well insulated they are. Water resistance seems to be as advertised - excellent. Wearing these things instantly makes you look like you know what you're doing. If I get 20 years out of them I'll be happy; that's how long my last pair of Red Wings held up.
Wears this shoe: Whenever doing any really serious or dangerous work.
