I purchased these boots after searching for them in stores, since I had worn the same boot out after a few years. They are light weight and don't track in mud. I purchased 2 pairs and have decided to order 2 more just in case I can't find them in the future. I am a contractor and don't like or need steel toe's. These are perfect for my needs.

I like the sole it is very slip resistant but mud and dirt fall right off. I am in people's homes all the time and never track dirt.

My feet are short and wide (8-EE/EEE). These boots are sized at an 8-EE which fit well. Too many other different brands of "wide" sized product feel more like a D/E. In these I find the right heel a bit loose but not uncomfortably so (not fully broken in yet). These are very nice looking with a light brown/tan finish. The leather is without blemish and is embossed to feel like an animal hide. Seams are triple or double stitched. The lacing is heavy duty with the lace D rings and loop fasteners being metal fastened by rivets. My only concern is that, like many of today's footwear, these have molded on soles which currently aren't readily repairable. However, I will only be wearing them occasionally rather than daily so they should last a good long while. Overall the Carhartt 03951s are a very handsome and comfortable boot and I would recomend them.
