I'm going with 5 stars for this shoe. You just have to get the right size. I ordered x wide. They were just barely wide enough. I'll order a size wider next time I order. Live & learn. They feel like they'll last 4 ever. The toe area is a plus design and really makes this shoe. Great cover and color. The sole grip is excellent.

I bought this hiking boot because it was "made in the USA." One of the reviewers mentioned that the boot is a little tight, with a need to break them in. I agree; it is a little tight, but I have begun getting a better fit. I wear it now when I walk the dog to break them in. In a few weeks, I will be using them for my main purpose - hiking. I will have a better idea how they fit and hold up after hiking in a couple of national parks.

I a huge fan of Danner and have used their Prong Horn for hunting, so I thought I would try a hiking boot for warmer weather. It is a stout boot. Plenty of traction and support and is extremely durable. My only complaint is the width. I got it in the widest size they make it in and it was not nearly wide enough. I wore it every day to work for a couple weeks and broke them in so they are comfortable, just surprised me because the Prong Horns in the same size and width fit much better.
