Bought these to replace a worn out pair. They are lighter and have more cushioning than the others, fit well, and the factory insole perfectly supports my low arches. Lucky thing, too, because there isn't enough room for orthotics. Very happy with the shoe for fit, comfort, and performance, but less satisfied with the aesthetics... the shiny vinyl trim seems tacky on an otherwise outstanding shoe.

Selected based on the Brooks' site recommending this particular shoe for better support and stability - both are excellent!I'm not a runner and use these shoes in the BodyPump class - and they work great for this type of exercise.

I ran in Brooks Beast several years back and always enjoyed them (except for the "beastly" look in 2002). Getting back into running in January 2010, I went to a store and was fitted for several different pairs. Ran in the Asics Gel Kayano, but noticed that, while they ran well, they didn't quite cushion 50+ year-old joints as well. Tried some Nike Zoom Triax and Puma Complete Vectana to no avail. Ordered the Brooks Beast--like running on air. Very comfortable, excellent shoes. If you are over 170 lbs, I highly recommend them!!
