THE boots for large calves

I was a little nervous about buying boots online, having 16 1/2" calves. Also the sizing was confusing. I take a size 9, and a size 40 in Euro. Bought the size 10 (40 Euro) in Cognac rather than the 39 and I'm glad I did, as I initially couldn't get my toes past the instep. Remembering that I had a long handled shoe horn, I slid that in and after about a 10 minute workout, managed to get my heel in. I have an average 9 foot, B width, regular instep so I was surprised at the effort it took. Once I got my feet in though, the boots are amazingly comfortable and after wearing them around in the house for the day and stretching them out a bit, they were much easier to get into the second time around. I wore a thin sock which also helps. If you have larger calves, it's easier to pull them up from near the bottom of the shaft, rather than from the top, scrunch them up like a sock when pulling them on. I think the recommendation to go with a size larger than you normally would is sound, I couldn't imagine trying to get on a marked size 9 in these boots. The quality is very good and I can wear them to the knee (and they stay there thanks to the 16 1/2" calves) or scrunched down. I'd buy these again in another colour in a heart beat.

These boots are perfect. The shaft is a little big but I prefer to wear them over jeans and they are perfect for that. Only problem is boot seems narrow but stretch after wear it.COMFORTABLE and CUTE.Usually I wear size 8 or 8.5, and 8 works good.

looks great, REALLY comfortable, a little narrow, but the description warns about the narrowness, so just adjust your size accordingly.

i love the look of these boots. tried them in an 8.5 and they were clearly too big. reordered them in an 8.0. they fit better, but i have a wider midfoot which is somewhat flat, athletic calves, and narrower ankles. the boots slip on easily for me. they'll stay up or slouch down depending on what i want (maybe because my calves are larger). there is no padding and no support inside the boot. i tried putting in insoles, but that made the boots too tight. even without the insoles, they're tight in the midfoot. not the best fit for me, but for looks, they're perfect: not too high of a heel, not too low. great with skirts or pants. i have the black (graphite?). they're already slightly distressed. They would be perfect, but they're too tight. might need to sell them on ebay, since i already wore them and i don't anticipate them becoming more comfortable.

This is a solid pair of suede boots. They aren't too pointy or too round-toed, too fancy or too simple. They're just right! I like the scrunchy ankles and hope to wear these over jeans this winter. For now, I'm working on stretching them out just a little bit more, since I have "athletic" calves. If you have skinny legs, these will be way too big for you.
