The zipper allows for easy on/easy off. The leather is a nice quality. The sole has a nice grip and is quiet. I bought my normal shoe size and they fit perfectly. If I were to have a negative, I'd say they could have a better insole, but I was comfortable all day and I walk a lot. Perfect height. I have about a 14" calf and wore these with skinny pants & they zipped up easily. I think you could snug these up a bit with the buckle or even use a leather punch to add an additional buckle hole. The other zipper is really just decorative. It moves, but does not extend the calf area, so don't count on that if you need extra room. Very stylish and lots of compliments. I just love them!
