First thing I noted was that the color and style were well within the range of what I expected - that's good. Then I noticed that the part of the boot where your pants are tucked into or that are covered by your pant leg (depending on how you choose to wear you boots) is not simply leather (suede in this case- or 'rough out' leather). Instead it has this odd foamy lining. In fact so does the foot bed. Then found that the foot bed was not well supported. Feels a bit minimalist there. This was the biggest let down. Looks good on the outside but a bit on the flimsy side within. Kind of surprised me since previous Born products have been quite sturdy. Finally, my heel does not fit as snugly as I am used to in other boots. The foot part is mostly snug but the heel has slippage, so the sox get pulled down, if I wear them. Thicker socks would do it less. But there's no room for that in the toebox. So I go without sox, which feels weird with the foamy stuff and leaves the whole foot a little looser. I got them at a fair price and will keep them, though could have just as likely returned them except that returning by mail takes more effort than I care to muster. Besides, they do achieve the look I was aiming for. I'll likely look for another pair of boots to augment my boot need, now that I am wearing jeans that go well with boots.

I liked the looks of this boot, both top and bottom, and that is why I bought it. Wore them today for the first time. They were very comfortable. No break in period necessary. I found the top of them a little uncomfortable at first so I folded them over and that worked great!
