I'm really glad I bought these. The wide calf is mostly leather but there are stretchy inserts in the back of the shaft which give these a nice snug fit. The ankles are nicely tapered so that there's no bunched up leather there. The heels are not too high or too narrow so you have a stable platform to stand on. They are very comfortable and I wear them all day...plus they are waterproof.

This boot was way more money than I wanted to spend. It was worth it as the leather is waterproof, the zipper works easily and the soles and heels of this fashionable boot is safe and practical on snow and ice. Plus these are all leather and very well made. You get what you pay for! Finally a boot that fits a 17" calf, too!

I have soccer to thanks for my wide calves and these boots are a dream the moment I set my feet into them. I learned about this brand after purchasing a pair of used blondo boots at the thrift store. Everything (the leather, the soles) seemed really intact but the boots did have a smell to them (it seems that the leather was much thicker, thus allowing less breatheability). Anyhow, after a year I decided that I needed to buy a similar pair of boots. I almost freaked out after I purchased my size 6 boot but learned that the old pair was a size 7 and tried to change the order. However, the change didn't go through and I'm glad that it didn't because the size 6 fit me perfectly. (normally a 6.5)The Viviane boots did not dissapoint. It looks stylish, it is super comfortable with a good arch support. I think that the sole at the front could be a little thicker like the older model, but the leather is slightly thinner. In fact, I was surprised to learn that a woman in my office building had the same pair of boots so I highly recommend this one.

Finally found some boots to fit my wide calves. One boot scrunches a bit in the ankle part but decided to keep since the boots zip up over my calves.
