These are typical Birkenstocks...good leather, good support. Typical Birkenstock comfort IF you're used to Birkenstocks. (If not, I'd suggest starting with one of their soft/padded insoles.) I like that they have a back strap which makes them more secure than slip-ons without a backstrap. Also, I like that the buckle across the instep makes the width adjustable.

I really liked the shoe. I am a nurse and unfortunately I have a bunion. I am trying to extend my surgery and these have helped. As was said you do have to break them in to form to your foot for a few weeks. I am sold on these. Two nurses I work with have these and they love them too.

I ordered the Tokyo after reading several reviews and contacting local foot clinic, which highly recommended the Birkenstock shoes, also advised to only wear a few hours each day and gradually wear longer for at least 2 weeks to break the shoe in, because it has to mold to your feet, which I did. I originally ordered a size 7 because I normally wear a 7 1/2 to 8, was way too big. Sent back for a 6 which fit perfect. The width is perfect as well. I'm on my feet 7- 7 1/2 hours a day standing on concrete and these shoes have helped my feet, knees and hips. I would buy them again. I have spent a lot on shoes and so far these have been my best investment. Thanks Birkenstock and ShoeBuy for the best deal.

This shoe is very comfy and has a classic Birk fit. All Birks always fit a little larger than they are marked, but knowing that, it's a great choice. I stand all day at work and can't wear anything else!

I wear a size 8.5, I bought Euro 39 (8-8.5 US) and they were way too big, but when I put them on I felt like they were massaging my feet. Since they were too long, I was worried about the placement of the arch support, but I'd read in some reviews that the shoe is supposed to be roomy, so I went ahead and I wore them to work (standing for 8 hours) and it was terribly painful. I don't know if it's because my arch is kinda flat, or because the shoe was too big, or if they need to be broken in? The inner side of the soles of my feet were red and swollen when I got home and to think I bought these shoes for comfort! I'm giving 3 stars for now because I'm still trying to break them in and I'm not sure of what the outcome will be yet.
