I bought my first pair of Birks last month to wear around the house and though I find them truly ugly, they are absolute heaven for my feet. I decided I wanted a pair that I could have my socks on (first pair has the toe loop). So I got 2 more pair, these and a pair with thinner "fancy" straps with an extra soft footbed. OMG, the soft footbed is amazing! It's a must. I love the feel (comfort) of the traditional leather straps so I decided to return these for a combo arizona/softbed which thankfully Shoebuy carries. These are still great, classic, but so much more improved with the soft footbed.

I marked true to width, but I'm going by usual Birkenstock sizes. They definitely run wider than other brands of shoes, which is good for me. I usually wear a wide but the regular is plenty wide enough for me. I've had Birkenstock sandals (Arizona) for 10+ years (same pair, resoled once) and this clog is just as comfy, maybe even better. I have had multiple foot surgeries, wear orthotics in regular shoes, and these are so comfortable all day long even on my feet at work.
