Problems with European Sizing.
By P. OBrien, from Rockford, IL | July 18, 2013
I had some problems with sizing. One web site suggested adding 30 to my regular size: this worked fine; and I had to have additional holes punched in the sole straps, which is not uncommon apparently. I also had to soften the cork in one spot for a toe joint. Overall--exactly what I wanted! Well made, right color, good fit. Be advised: you do need to break them in, a couple of hours at a time, until they conform to your feet and you get used to them.Shoebuy was excellent, I will definitely buy more products!

First pair of Birkenstocks
By Fritz, from Northern Illinois | July 03, 2013
These are beautifully crafted sandals with great attention paid to construction, appearance and function. Will take some getting used to, as cork bed is fairly stiff, and with heel strap, tricky to walk on stairs. I'm keeping them, and assume that 200+ years, they know what they're doing. Its nice to purchase footwear, still manufactured in the country of origin that does reflects commitment to quality and detail. Buy 'em before they knock 'em off in China.

Great arch support
By Andrew, from NY, NY | June 20, 2012
I have flat feet, so in the summer I want a sandal with good arch support. I've been wearing the Birkenstock Milano for 14 years, and I can't imagine wearing anything else.

Always have loved these sandals
By Keith, from Charleston, SC | September 14, 2011
This is my third pair of these, and I'm always very glad I purchased them. I debated for a short while going with the Birkibuc instead of the oil rubbed to save quite a bit, but I decided to splurge and spend the extra money for what I knew I would be satisfied with over the long term. I wear these quite often, as long as the warm weather permits, and they usually last me at least 3+ years. The only downside is the wearing of the sole around the heal, which is probably due to my stride, but this is the spot that always wears most quickly.

Wears this shoe: Spring, summer and fall -- when it is not raining.
By E, from Vienna. VA | September 09, 2011
A sandle without equal in terms of comfort. Also one of the few that is good for a narrow foot. I don't wear it when it's raining or in a wet environment.

Wears this shoe: Right now, only as long as I can bear the pain. Once broken in, Always.
Love it, but the break in is a nightmare.
By ady, from Edison, NJ | August 29, 2011
I know from previous experience this is one of the most comfortable shoes in existence. However, breaking it in to get to that point is horrible. It's almost not worth it. Almost. If not for the break in period, which is killer on my feet, this would be 5 star sandal. I have small narrow (dare I say dainty?) feet. Maybe a big man with strong tough feet won't have such an issue with breaking in.

Having a back strap gives a little more stability when hiking and biking. Good arch support and comfortable footbed.

Bought these for my grandson
By Vicky R., from Charlotte, NC | April 28, 2011
He is only 9 years old, but he is in an adult men's size shoe. They are great looking shoes, but right now the leather is a little stiff and he has a difficult time getting them buckled and we have to help (he is autistic).
