I finally bought these Birkenstocks in a stone color for my birthday, after buying Mocha in a size 39 which turned out to be too big, even though I typically wear a size 8. I always wanted a pair and was too happy when they finally arrived. The first two days will hurt, as in I had to break them in and they felt highly uncomfortable. I even got a bruise on my left foot when I wore them, but after that I can't force myself to take them off. Overall they are great shoes, especially for flat footed people.
Wears this shoe: All the time, especially in the summer

This is my first pair of Birkenstocks, and I am sorry I waited so long. They are awesome...felt like they were made for my foot!I have problem feet -falling arches, and they feel so comforting and supportive!Love them! My sisters have worn them for years and are addicted. I can see why...

I started wearing Birkenstocks in 1985 and I've always appreciated how comfortable and functional they are. When I opened my recent shipment and happily tried them on, I was surprised to see that they were too big. I assumed that I had messed up the size on the order but these were labeled with the same size as the pair I'm currently wearing. I matched one old and one new sandal side by side and there's a clear difference in length. So I'll be trading these in for the next size down, but I'm wondering if this pair is a fluke or if the brand has been resized.
Wears this shoe: Leisure and to work with some outfits.

Great walking sandal with a contoured and supportive foot bed. Appear to be true to size, I am an 8.5 normally, and I tried both the 38 and 39 and ended up keeping the 38. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I feel the toe area is slightly short for those with longer toes. I tried to size up but it did not make a difference in the toe area, and the smaller size fit the rest of the foot better.
