I wanted a decent pair of shiny patent leather shoes to wear with my tuxedo at my recent wedding vs. the super cheap plastic kind the rental places give you that kill your feet/ankles. I bought my tux, so I know I will need shoes to wear again, so I found these Bates shoes online. If you are looking for something comfortable and shiny dress, these may be for you. I will say that they are the military style, so the sole is heavy duty and the shoes weighs more than a traditional dress shoe you may wear for work. All in all, I am very satisfied and glad I was able to find a great shoe to wear at my wedding that was comfortable. A shoe like this makes a big difference in the appearance of your wedding tux photos, so complete your look.

Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked
My youngest son has Downs Syndrome and as a result of his condition he has small feet, making it VERY hard to find him shoes. These Bates shoes fit him well and he will wear them with his Tux at his brothers wedding in September. They are a little large, but we should be able to make them fit him tightly using foot bed inserts. The shoes are well made and look nice.

This is a must have shoe. It is heavy duty, it looks great, and you can wear it with any thing. Buy at least two pair.

I really like these shoes. I wear a uniform and the shoes really stand out. I am on my feet all day and I am still breaking the shoes in but as of right now I am satisfied with these shoes. I also remember the bates brand when I was in in the marines but I think they have improved a lot since then.

I was in a real crunch, as I had a Event where I was to wear a tuxedo and of course you had to have high gloss shoes like when I was in the military. I have had many surgeries and weight fluctuation, and my size was a 14EEE and I was amazed that I was able to find them. Then, with my medical condition being in a wheelchair, I was leery that they would be comfortable as I don't move my feet around, but I was surprised, because they were extremely comfortable and felt great on me. I highly recommend them to anyone that has a special day that they require to look their best.
Wears this shoe: October 23, 2010 for a 3 hour Event and they are back into the box.
