Felt slightly tighter in the width than I expect for an extra wide rating. Not enough to return. Good support. Gives a nice solid feel. Couple of days of wear and they were feeling good.

I bought this boot to help get me through a horrible winter. A snowstorm delayed its delivery, but it hasn't snowed since the boot arrived. I've tried it to make sure of the fit and comfort; it scored well on both counts, and it looks great.

The boots look good and wear very well. I have a large wide foot and although they are not tight, they are not quite as roomy as I thought. They feel good with regular socks but with heavy wool ones they are a little snug. This is a very good boot and I will definitely purchase again when they need to be replaced.

I have now had the Bates GTX 8" for a little over a month and have worn them at work everyday since I received them. It is winter in Michigan and these boots do a good job of keeping my feet warm and dry. They feel slightly wider then other boots I have worn in the past. Being a slight bit wide is a good thing though because I like to wear a regular pair of socks along with some thicker wool socks for the cold nights. I also noticed that the top of the boot is a little sloppy around my lower calf/ankle area and I cannot pull it completely tight. Although it is managable and tolerable. The quality seems good and they clean up well. Overall it was a good purchase for someone who needs a boot that will keep feet dry, warm and comfortable while working.
