America's favorite extra support shoe company. Located in Lancaster, Ohio this old time company still makes their shoes in up to twelve widths to the half size. Barefoot Freedom is their orthopaedic and in-depth line. They make these shoes on standard and oblique toe lasts. All their shoes have double steel shanks which are higher and wider than standard shanks and they are also contoured for right and left feet. Extended orthopaedic long medial counters and lateral counters make these shoes ideal for control of pronation or weak feet. They are also useful in holding you in position over orthotics, preventing you from rolling over your orthotics through the side of the shoe. The standard toe in depths have a plastizote innersole to cushion the bottom of your foot and arch from the concrete. The oblique toe in depths have a 1/4 inch plastizote innersole for even more cushion. Some styles come with Vibram soles for maximum shock absorption and slip prevention on wet surfaces. These innersoles can be removed for more toe room, or to add your brace or arch supports from your doctor.
