In 1847, Carl Franz Bally and his brother took over their father's elastic ribbon and suspender manufacturing business. In 1850, Carl Franz Bally left for a business trip to Paris where he was seduced by a pair of subtly decorated slippers. Snapping up several styles for his wife, he returned to Switzerland, called in local cobblers, and began pioneering the techniques of early shoe manufacturing. In 1851, Carl and his brother founded Bally & Co. Today, Bally produces their luxury shoes in Caslano to provide world class products for all the world to enjoy.
