Have been waiting many years to find the right leather boots to replace my beloved Raichle's. Bought these - pleased with the price. They feel strong/sturdy enough for serious hiking. However, just noticing that these are not true leather thru and thru like my Raichle's were. Bummer! I guess they call these nubuck leather - so the inside of the boots are cloth as opposed to leather. So hard to find these days! They don't even sell leather in hiking boots for women at stores in NJ anymore! These felt a 1/2 size too big and were really hurting the front of my shins as they come up a little high. I only did one short hike - so could be they just need some break-in time. A little disappointed.

I bought the same size as my old Asolo leather boots, they fit great, but did notice the toe box is larger. I purchased a pair of super feet insoles, so the volume doesn't seem as big now. I've only hiked 2 times in them, but so far no break in trouble.

This is my second pair of Asolos. They are extremely comfortable and very easy to break in. I got about 1000 miles out of my first pair. I have recommended them to other people, who also love the boots.
