Asolo Flame GTX $293.95
Nice Boot
By Avid hiker and backpacker, from Cedar Hill, Texas | March 12, 2014

The Asolo Flame GTX fit great out of the box. A few hikes have resulted in a good break-in for the boots, and the fit remains very comfortable. They seem very durable over rocky terrain. They look great as well. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it to get a great looking boot that fits well and lasts.

First Pair
By Chuck, from Traverse City, MI | February 10, 2014

This is the first pair of Asolos I have ever purchased and it won't be the last. These boots are great, I have only had them for two weeks and so far no complaints.

Asolo Shiver GV $159.95
High quality, elegant hiker
By Snuttig, from Massachusetts | December 02, 2013

I was looking for a hiking shoe for nicer days or easier trails when my hiking boots would be overkill. Being familiar with Asolo, very satisfied with their quality, and liking their fit, I chose these shoes. When they arrived I was surprised how elegant they were - almost too nice to take them on dirt. But then they come with a beefy tread. They may have been meant for sightseeing where you're in and out of museums and also walking on pavement and dirt. Works for me!

Nice Gortex version similar to 535
By Happy Hiker, from Tennessee | November 23, 2013

Love the fit, comfort, laces, softer outsole, and water resistance. Gortex is always hot.The TPS-520 seems to combine what I like about the other two models - Gortex like the 200 with shock absorbing softer outsole and better fit for me of the TPS-535. Although the TPS-535 can withstand quite a bit of water without the Gortex, sometimes I must stand and wade in pools of water for well over an hour. So on regular hikes I will use the 535 for less heat and use the 520 when lots of shallow water wading is expected. The laces on the 520 stay tied better than the 200 but the 200 pulley based lacing system is excellent if you frequently adjust anyway. In the end, the TPS 520 fits me great and has the much-appreciated added bonus of softer outsole. I really like the comfort of this boot but any Gortex on me creates too much heat for long dry hikes so for me this will be reserved for extremely soggy hikes. The smooth lining of the Gortex in this 520 is comfortable. This would make me choose it over the 535 for every hike if the climate I hiked in did not cause Gortex to overheat my feet, so for this southeastern US climate I need both due to my extra sensitivity to heat.

Asolo TPS 535 V $281.95
love!these boots!
By M.Y., from Santa Fe, New Mexico | October 28, 2013

I had a similar pair by Asolo (not sure if exact same model) that lasted me for TWENTY YEARS!). I loved them, I love these. I buy a half size smaller because I don't wear them with heavy hiking socks, just regular socks. They are heavier than some, but I like that. I also like the slight rocking motion once I start walking (don't feel it just walking around the house or somewhere slow, like that). They are leather so take a tiny bit of care. Well worth it. I hope these last me another twenty years too. (the sole finally detached and fell off the last pair, but can not complain after 20 years! I also get a lot of compliments on them. For some reason, people notice.
